About the Role

As the Technical Product Manager for Edge Compute, you will help define and drive the product roadmap for edge computing initiatives. You will work with customers to understand the capabilities, programming model, and experience StackPath will offer developers. You will work with internal StackPath teams to understand the unique challenges and constraints of the edge and define the right product strategy and solutions to address them. You will do the product exploration and design, and work with a dedicated team of super talented engineers to build and launch these products.

We're searching for an entrepreneurial, innovative, and motivated Technical Product Manager who will manage the multi-team development and operational delivery of a large portfolio of technical projects by understanding business requirements, managing changes, removing roadblocks, and communicating broadly with multiple functional groups and stakeholders.

In this position, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and build consensus by understanding stakeholder requirements and constraints. You will be expected to clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to cross-functional teams. You will help identify, prioritize, and advocate for the largest opportunities, as well as create and manage new efficiency opportunities from ideation to launch.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Uncover and understand customer needs and translate them into requirements.
  • Ability to work well with internal teams, including developers, engineers, architects, quality assurance, and operations. Ensure requirements are fully understood and that implementation plans match expectations.
  • Understand, research, and follow technical trends in the industry and in general. Able to assess emerging products and companies to measure their potential value or threat to the company and its products, as well as make recommendations on which new technologies to invest in or leverage.
  • Follow competitors and conduct capability analysis regularly.
  • Provide internal and customer training on how to use the product.
  • Answer incoming questions about the product and its capabilities.
  • Assess and address technical risks.
  • Coordinate beta tests.
  • Define success criteria for testing and product acceptance.
  • Facilitate the creation and maintenance of proper product documentation.

Desired Skills and Experience

  1. BS in Computer Science or a related engineering field
  2. 5+ years of technical product management experience involving cross-domain, cross-team engagements
  3. Experience creating user stories and using Jira to manage sprints
  4. Experience writing technical documentation (functional and technical product specifications)
  5. Experience shipping products that have scaled
  6. Demonstrated track record of defining and launching products/services
  7. Ability to communicate complex technical issues simply and convincingly to a wide range of audiences
  8. Proactive and can-do attitude, ability to multitask
  9. Flexible schedule — ability to work across time zones
  10. High degree of comfort presenting to executives, C-suite, or highly technical audiences.
